The Department of Teacher Training in Electrical Engineering

The Department of Teacher Training in Electrical Engineering began to recruit students for the first time since the academic year of 1969, called the “Electrical Methodology Department”, which is a department in North Bangkok Technical College. In 1971, the King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology North Bangkok Act was enacted. The Department of Teacher Training in Electrical Engineering is therefore a department in the Faculty of Technical Education at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology North Bangkok with the assistance from the Federal Republic of Germany at the beginning. The Department of Teacher Training in Electrical Engineering is the first department in Thailand to provide a Bachelor of Science in Technical Education Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.S.Tech.Ed. (Electrical Engineering)). The program philosophy is that those who have completed the program have the ability to teach in vocational or technical colleges. It is a 4-year program with the first two years being a high vocational certificate program offering engineering subjects, and the last two years teaching both engineering and educational subjects. It is intended to produce technical teachers focusing on theoretical teaching, called “Theory Teacher in Electrical (TTE)”.
